New Padded Drum Gig Bags From Ludwig
 January 29, 1998The Ludwig Drum Company continues to expand their percussion accessory line to include Drum Gig Bags. Jim Catalano, Ludwig's Marketing Manager noted, "We offer high quality 100% American made drum and hardware bags, at competitive prices with value added features that will provide the gigging drummer a good investment in protecting their drum investment."
Ludwig Padded Gig Bags are made with a rugged dark gray nylon material. Add foam padding and a vinyl plush fleece inner lining, and you have a double constructed bag that insulates the drum. These bags hold their shape when empty, yet can be nested or folded for easy storage. Ludwig Gig Bags use a 1" Black nylon binding tape at all seams for superior strength. The "Weather Seal" coil zippers are heavy duty black nylon YKK #7 chain style with silver pulls for quick access.
Catalano stated that, "Our Drum Bags are thick, strong, and work like a case with a 4" spine on each bag. This allows the lid to fold back and out of the way so the bag stays round, to install the drum easily."
Other features include metal snap hooks and rings, double stitched webbed handles with black rubber tubing comfort grips. The snare drum bags also include a handy detachable shoulder strap.
Padded drum bags fit most sized drums and even fit drums with RIMS, floor tom leg brackets, and bass drum spurs. Bass Drum bag sizes available range from 14x18" thru 16x24". Floor tom bag sizes range from 14x14" thru 16x18". Tom bag sizes range from 8x8" thru 14x15".
Ludwig has also introduced two models of durable hardware bags for drum stands and accessories. The interior of these bags feature high strength double laminate vinyl that is tear and puncture resistant. For the added weight of stands, a heavier YKK #10 nylon zipper chain is used and steel feet are placed on the bottom of the bags for extra durability. A handy 20" long accessory pocket with velcro flap is ideal for storing keys, clutches, sticks, and other small accessories.
