Miditerminal Corp. Introduces Waveterminal PCI Audio Card4 Channel Digital Audio Card with 20-Bit A/D D/A January 29, 1998
Wavetable is a computer card that enables you to record from external sources and playback to external hardware. In that sense, it's like a sound card. But, to compare a normal sound card to Waveterminal would be like comparing a moped to a Ferrari.
Waveterminal converts analog signals to digital - and vice-versa. It has an input for digital sources (DAT, synth, CD player, etc.) and 2 inputs for analog signals (tape machine, microphone, amp, etc.). All of these sources can be used simultaneously - so you can, for example, play and record your guitar while you are playing and listening to a music track from your CD player. Once you have done your recording you can mix and fool with your tracks with your computer software and then playback - again, all channels simultaneously.
