2.0 from Steinberg Includes Direct Sampler Support

GmbH, the market leader of music software companies on both the Macintosh and
Windows platforms, today announced the release of WaveLab version 2.0. The leading
audio editor for the Windows 95/NT platform, WaveLab (tm) 2.0 was the first program
to offer integrated CD-burning to create professional red book compatible audio
CDs with a majority of the popular CD-ROM or CD-R recorders. New features
now include: - Direct Sampler Support with detailed looping functions,
enabling processed recordings to be transferred directly as samples into an appropriate
device. WaveLab utilizes the same sample driver created by Propellerheads for
Recycle.
- Audio File analysis and editing functions have been improved. A new
Marker function allows you to create a number of different "edits" of
a particular title for CD production without having to generate a completely new
file each time.
- PlugIn architecture now supports VST PlugIns enabling the
inclusion of PlugIns in batch-processing tasks.
- Analysis Functionality. Great
for mastering. It automatically detects problems such as hidden clicks or distortion
that can occur during audio file import, speeding up the restoration of long and
complex audio files.
- Two new PlugIns: Peakmaster for adding soft realtime
compression to recordings and Puncher for giving more attack to over-compressed
rhythmic material.
- Support for an additional file format, MPEG 1 Layer 3,
making publication of music on the Internet a breeze.
WaveLab will be available at Steinberg dealers nationwide for a MSRP of $499.00
