Yamaha Corporation of America announces several small, yet significant changes to its well-known FG Series acoustic guitars. A new scale length for all FG Series acoustic guitars will now be standard "dreadnought" length (increased from 636mm to 650mm), and the FG headstock design is now the same as Yamaha's LL Series. The new scale length will be indicated with model number increase; i.e. the FG411 is now the FG412.
"Along with improved scale length, we are now expanding the FG line with a few new models to increase the consumers's options," states Jay Piccirillo, product specialist, Guitar Department, Pro Audio & Combo Division.
New features for these models are as follows: FG422 (upgraded version of FG412)-fingerboard and heel cap bindings; FG432 (upgraded version of FG422)- headstock binding; wood mosaic pattern on both the back center and body tail inlays; and FG432S (solid top version of FG432)-headstock binding; wood mosaic pattern on both the back center and body tail inlays.
Distinguishing characteristics of models will be indicated as follows: electronics (X), cutaways (C), left-handed (L) and solid top (S).
