Hafler(R) Debuts TRM12s Low Frequency Speaker
System January 28, 1999Hafler(R), the leader in amplifiers for the studio, post production, broadcast
and audiophile markets, is proud to debut the TRM12s VFET Trans*ana powered
low frequency speaker system at the NAMM Convention. The innovative TRM12s provides
extended low end response for the Hafler TRM8 powered monitor system, or any
studio system requiring accurate low frequency reproduction.
"When we introduced the TRM8 monitor to the studio market, we provided
a world class powered monitor system second to none in sound and performance,"
says Jerry Cave, managing director for Hafler. "The TRM12s carries on this
tradition."
The TRM12s is a well designed and powered, low frequency speaker system offering
a free field frequency response of 25-11OHz (+/- 2dB) at less than 3 percent
Total Harmonic Distortion, 25-11OHz at 96dB at two meters on axis. The system
uses Hafler's advanced VFET Trans*ana G 200 watt rms (at 4 Ohms) power amplifier
to deliver acoustic output greater than 115dB. This performance more than adequately
meets the dynamic range needs of 24-bit digital playback.
The 12-inch low frequency driver utilizes a cellulose fiber cone driven by
a 2.5-inch voice coil, with the speaker "down firing" mounted in a
2.0 cubic foot vented cabinet. The input panel offers stereo balanced XLR and
stereo unbalanced RCA connectors with balanced/ unbalanced and selectable phase
DIP switches and a variable low pass 40 to 11OHz filter. Cabinet size measures
19.5-inches wide by 18.0125-inches high by 19.25-inches deep.
"Hafler already dominates the high-end amplifier market and is very successful
with the TRM8 and TRM6 powered monitor systems as well as the TRM10s subwoofer,"
states Cave. "The TRM12s rounds out our compact powered speaker line with
the performance expected from a Hafler product." For more information, visit Hafler on the web at www.hafler.com. |
