Korg Adds Lyric Display and Other New Features
To i30 and iS-Series January 28, 1999Korg USA has recently released new operating systems for their
i30 and iS40 and 50 Interactive Accompaniment keyboards, adding a host of new
features (many requested from users around the world). For all models the much-sought-after
lyric display capability has been added, allowing these keyboards to display lyrics
on screen from Standard MIDI files made in the following formats - Tune 1000,
Roland Edirol, GEM GMX, General Music, Solton, Midisoft, KAR, HitBit and Yamaha
XF. This allows the user to enjoy singing along with their favorite tunes with
the widest format support available.
The i30 Version 2 adds another important enhancement - compatibility with the
Styles and Arrangements of previous i-series keyboards like the popular i3 and
iX300, and the current iS40 and 50. i30 owners can be guaranteed that any i/iS
compatible disk and song file they find will work with their keyboard. Version
2 also adds many improvements and new features to the Arrangement and Disk modes
of the i30.
The iS series Version 2.01 adds compatibility with all i30 Style and Arrangement
data, bringing the whole family of Korg Interactive Accompaniment products into
complete "harmony" with one another. Other new features include many
advanced drum-mapping options and performance features in the Arrangement Mode,
and a software-based Speaker Off function for easily turning on and off the
built-in speakers.
Both disk-based operating systems are available free of charge from any Authorized
Korg dealer, and can also be downloaded from Korg USA's web site. For more information, visit Korg at http://www.korg.com/ |
