Marshall amplification announces the launch of two new 1x12 combos in their Park Series of guitar amplifiers. These two new dual channel units are the 50 Watt MG50RCD and the 80 Watt MG80RCD, which were designed by the same team of English engineers who developed Marshall's best-selling Valvestate range. In keeping with the other four Park Series combos available (MG10MKII, MG15RCD, MG30RCD and MG215RCD), these two amps are the most affordable Marshalls ever offered at these Wattages.

Both amps boast two totally independent, footswitchable channels - Normal and Boost. The Normal channel has controls for Gain, Bass, Middle and Treble. Although it is voiced with Clean sounds in mind, this channel is also capable of a pleasing, bluesy overdriven tone when the Gain control is high. The Normal Channel of the MG80RCD also has a Clean/Crunch switch, which adds to its flexibility.

The Boost channel of the MG50RCD has controls for Gain, Bass, Treble, Volume and Contour. The latter is identical to the critically acclaimed Contour control featured in Marshall's Valvestate line. This mid-band contour shift provides a wide voicing sweep, which helps maximize the tonal versatility of the Boost channel. The Boost channel of the MG80RCD is also equipped with the following features: a Middle control which affords the channel even more EQ flexibility and an Overdrive select switch which allows the player to choose between the "classic" distortion of OD1 or the modern, hi-gain raunch of OD2.

Both amps also feature built-in Reverb, a Line Out Jack for recording or live use and an FX loop. The FX loop in the MG50RCD is in series while the loop in the MG80RCD is parallel and has a front panel Mix control plus a -20dB/0 dB Loop Level switch, which makes it compatible for both stomp boxes (-20dB) and professional, rack-mounted devices (0 dB). Additionally, the MG80RCD has a Master Volume control.

The rear panel of both amps features a CD input which allows the player to plug in a CD player, tape player or some other auxiliary device and play along. The rear panel of the MG80RCD also has two parallel Speaker Outputs which means the amp could drive two 4x12 cabinets if required. In fact, when the MG80RCD is presented with a total speaker impedance of 4 Ohms it is capable of delivering a full 100 Watts of power.

Both amps come supplied with footswitches housed in durable metal casings. The footswitch supplied with the MG50RCD (PEDL 10008) allows the user to switch between Normal and Boost channels. The MG80RCD footswitch (PEDL 10009) is a two-way unit which allows the player to switch Reverb on and off as well as change channels.

The MG50RCD has a suggested retail price of $449.99 and is currently available.

The MG80RCD has a suggested retail price of $549.00 and is also currently available.
