PRESS RELEASE
| New Meinl Cymbals
 |
January 28, 1999Within
each Meinl cymbal range special "effect" cymbals are always interesting
for a change in traditional tonality. The Classics Series of cymbals,
which was introduced in the Spring of 1997, includes several noteworthy "effect"
cymbals which can be used separately or in combination by both, drummers and
percussionists, to expand a players capabilities. Three Splashes are available
in 8", 10" and 12" sizes. The sound of these Classics Splashes
is described as "full bodied" with a sharply pronounced midrange tonality.
Finely lathed and machined for the typical splash sound, these cymbals are a
perfect fit for medium to high volume music. The Classics Chinas in 16"
and 18" sizes are two more effect style cymbals which produce the typical
exotic chinese sonic spectrum. The turned up edge and broad brim combined with
the robust bell guarantees bright and trashy sounds when hit with a stick from
either side, but when used with mallets a gong-like effect can be produced.
The Classics Series offers the drummer professional sounds at a reasonable
price. Meinl Cymbals - always the finer choice!
