MxTrax(TM) for Yamaha's DSP Factory Now Shipping January 28, 1999
Minnetonka Audio Software is now shipping MxTrax for the
Yamaha DSP Factory. This combination brings large-studio performance to the desktop, ideal for
vocalists and musicians laying live tracks.
MxTrax uses the serious DSP power of the DSP Factory to deliver many channels of real-time mixing
and effects. All faders, panners, EQ, and dynamics operate in real-time, to give the feal and
functionality of a dedicated console.
"The DSP Factory provides enough DSP horsepower to enable the best features of MxTrax, yet it's low
cost gives the user a whole new price point for real-time mixing," said John Schur, President of
Minnetonka.
MxTrax brings its famous drag-and-drop mixer architecture to the DSP Factory. The user literally
creates a custom mixer by dragging mixer components from a toolkit and dropping them onto a mixer.
Components include input and output faders, panners, EQ, delay, solo/mute, and
compression/expansion, and more. Mixer channels can be connected to disk tracks, external i/o, and to
internal buses.
Forty different DSP effects are available and include chorus, reverb, flange, echo, pitch change, and
vocal doubler. All mixer controls can be automated. MxTrax's convenient Automation Update mode makes it a snap to
change the automation of any component of any channel at any time.Custom mixers can be saved, and recalled at any time.
The disk tracks, custom mixer, automation, and edits are saved as a Project. Not only can you recall an
entire Project at a later time, but MxTrax actually remembers edits that were done in previous sessions.
You can literally load a Project, and Undo an edit you made last week.
Editing features include instantaneous fades, crossfades, gain change, and normalize. All edits are non-destructive,
with unlimited undos and redos.
Price is $499 retail list.
