Pearl MRX Masters Custom Extra DrumsFor 1999, the Pearl MRX Masters Custom Extra receives major upgrades
for improved sound and performance.

All toms now are standard equipped with Die Cast Hoops. Pearl's die
cast hoops are specially designed to enhance low-end frequencies-with no loss
of resonance-for exceptional focus and presence not possible with rolled steel
hoops. Mounted toms feature Pearl's new OptiMount suspension system with
four-point tension rod mounting for exceptional stability and outstanding tone
and resonance. New TH-100I tom holders with simultaneous up/down, and
left/right positioning are included in selected shell packs. Drum sizes are
available in standard, alternative, and power depths in diameters ranging from
8" to 16".
Bass drums feature new D-054 claws with recessed tension rod receivers and
rubber gaskets to insure hoop finish protection. New CL-250 lugs insure precision
alignment of tension rods. MRX bass drums are offered in standard and power
depths in diameters ranging from 18" to 24". Standard features include
SP-30 spurs, BB-3 bass bracket, and Remo Powerstroke3 bass drum heads.
Matching snare drums are also available. The MRX-5514 (5 1/2"x14")
and MRX-5514D (6 1/2x14) feature the same 6 ply 7.5mm 100% maple shell construction
for the extra attack and presence that the MRX is noted for. Common features
include die cast hoops, SR-01 5 vertical pull strainer, bridge lug with brass
tension receivers, and Remo heads.
MRX Masters Custom Extra are sold in shell packs and in components. Six high
gloss lacquer finishes are available including NEW #151 Platinum Mist, #100
Wine Red, #102 Natural, #103 Piano Black, #122 Black Mist, and #126 Emerald
Mist.
