Marvin "Smitty" Smith Signature Snare Drum

January 28, 1999

Marvin "Smitty" Smith is known to many as the drummer on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" but his credits also include sessions and tours with Branford Marsalis, Terance Blanchard, Donald Harrison and Sting among many others. To accommodate these diverse musical styles, Marvin requires a snare drum with extreme versatility: that drum is the new MS-4014 Marvin "Smitty" Smith Signature Snare Drum by Pearl.

The MS-4014 features a copper shell for controlled overtones and "mild" almost maple tonality yet with the aggressiveness of metal. According to Marvin, "This chameleon-like combination of tonal characteristics makes the MS-4014 ideal for all the musical situations I encounter. The 4"x14" size helps too. It can be tuned tight or loose depending on the gig. This drum truly does it all!"

Other standard features include SuperHoop II, CL-05 lugs, and SR-018 strainer: all beautifully plated in 24K gold.
