New Signature Series Ride Cymbals For Major
Players January 28, 1999Responding to the growing demand for more personal ride cymbal sounds, SABIAN
Ltd. has created a number of new ride cymbals in its Signature Series. These
new models include the 20" Carl Allen Ride, a mini-bell model that produces
a hot, warm tone that remains totally under the players control; the 22"
Jack DeJohnette Encore Flat Ride, a medium-thin model with dry, simmering tones
and increased volume, enabling it to be heard in situations where other flat
rides would be inaudible; the Will Calhoun Ambient Ride, a raw-surfaced 21"
Medium-Thin model that delivers big, full and wide open dark-toned ambient sounds
with definite stick definition; the 18" Ed Thigpen Crystal Thin Ride, a
small model that is ideal for sensitive playing, including jazz and folk; the
21" Andre 'De De' Ceccarelli Ride, a medium-weight model that is double
hammered for simmering stick sounds and controllable spread.
Commented SABIAN Ass't VP Manufacturing, Nort Hargrove: "There is a growing
trend towards specialized ride cymbals, and these new Signature models offer
an wide range of options, especially for players with a taste for Jazz and Fusion."
