Sabian's Rod Morgenstein Signature Ride January 28, 1999SABIAN has introduced the Rod Morgenstein 21" Signature Series Ride. This
21" dual-surfaced, medium-weight model is designed to deliver the correct
balance of clean stick articulation and tonal spread required by Rod Morgenstein,
the poll-winning drummer whose high-energy Rock/Fusion drumming with new group
Platypus, the Dixie Dregs and the Rudess/Morgenstein Project demands a ride
with precision, speed and clarity.
"Now that I'm playing in three bands," notes Rod, "with styles
veering from full-blown Fusion and Rock to Funk grooves, I've found a greater
need for a purpose-built ride: clean stick articulation with the right amount
of spread is a must."
This partially lathed model - the bell and its 2" perimeter are raw,
the rest of the cymbal is lathed delivers tight cutting sounds around its center
area, while strokes on the lathed section heat up with a clean, musical tone
that increases the size of the sound as playing moves across the bow to 'the
edge, but remains consistently well-defined and cutting. The high profile ensures
increased high-end cutting power, while the size of the bell makes it an easy
target, even when playing hard, to play a sound that is definitely loud and
sufficiently solid enough for pulsing through the loudest volumes.
The Rod Morgenstein Signature Ride is crafted from pure SABIAN B20 bronze,
the most durable and musical metal in cymbal making, and is protected against
faults related to production and material by SABIAN's One-Year Warranty Protection
Program. For more information, visit Sabian at http://www.sabian.com/ |
