January 28, 1999

Marc Lindahl, president of Sonorus, Inc., has announced that Sonorus's 16-channel 24-bit digital audio interface, STUDI/O, is now supported by a wider selection of Macintosh recording software. Joining Steinberg's Cubase VST v3.5 and Cycling '74's MSP are Steinberg's entire line of Cubase VST offerings, including full 24/96 support under VST/24, Emagic's Logic Audio Platinum/Gold 3.6, Opcode's Studio Vision 4.1 and Vision DSP 4.1, MOTU's Digital Performer 2.5, Bitheadz' AS-1 and DS-1, AudioSynth's SuperCollider, Cakewalk's Metro 4. 1 and Metric Halo's Spectrafoo. Further Sonorus' ASIO drivers allow up to four boards to be used for up to 64 channels in and 72 channels out, and are configurable for various combinations of ADAT and SPDIF interface, including 96kHz via the S/MUXTM format.

The first company to write their own ASIO driver, Sonorus has placed a high value on working closely with recording software companies to create the best possible interface between hardware and software. To this end, MSP, Spectrafoo, AudioSynth, and Metro have all written directly for the STUDI/O board, using the software development kit (SDK) provided by Sonorus.
