Telex Introduces ProStar UHF UT-12 Plug-On

the ProStar UHF UT-12 Universal Plug-On Transmitter at the NAMM Convention,
held from January 28 to 31 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Booth W144.
This versatile transmitter allows the use of any XLR compatible dynamic and
electret-type microphone with Telex's ProStar UHF wireless microphone system.
"Every vocalist and presenter eventually finds the perfect microphone
to reproduce his or her voice through a sound system," says Gary Bosiacki,

Universal Plug-On Transmitter instantly converts that favored, hard-wired, limited
movement mic into a unit that gives the performer maximum freedom of movement,
while preserving the preferred sound quality."
The Telex
ProStar system operates in the UHF band in the 690 to 725 RF carrier frequency
range while offering a frequency response of 50 to 15,000 Hz. Frequency stability
measures .005 percent with an unweighted signal-to-noise ratio of 91 dB with
less than 0.5 percent third harmonic distortion. Ultimate quieting (ref. 12
KHz Dev.) measures 97 dB.
The UT-12 Universal Plug-On Transmitter joins the existing UB-12 Beltpack,
UH-12 fixed handheld and UG-12 Guitar transmitters, offering a choice of up
to eight factory pre-set, crystal controlled frequencies (each transmitter works
on only one transmission frequency). RF power output is rated at 10 to 15 Mw
as typical and provides up to eight to ten hours of performance using alkaline
batteries.
Connection to the UT-12 is accomplished through a standard three-pin XLR-type
female connector, making the transmitter compatible with virtually all dynamic
and electret-type microphones. Being the same as a standard push-to-lock wired
system, installation is instantly familiar. The unit features an audio mute
switch, power switch, battery status LED indicator and screw-type gain adjustment.
