Sonic Foundry and Macromedia Sponsor
Acid + Macromedia Flash
Contest September 5, 2001
Sonic Foundry Inc. announced the launch of ACID + Macromedia Flash, a multimedia
content creation contest hosted at ACIDplanet.com, sponsored by Sonic
Foundry, and Macromedia, with additional support from AMD and Sams
Publishing.
Sonic Foundry's ACID, the award-winning loop-based music creation tool,
can be used as a soundtracking tool for Macromedia Flash
projects. Macromedia Flash is a solution for delivering high-impact Web
experiences. ACID + Macromedia Flash is designed to highlight the growing
popularity of using the applications together to create stunning audio/visual
presentations, animations, and films. Hosted at Sonic Foundry's
ACIDplanet.com site (www.acidplanet.com), contest entrants will be able to
download a free version of ACID and loops to compose soundtracks for
their Macromedia Flash content creations.
Dave Chaimson, Sonic Foundry Director of Marketing said "The use of
ACID in Macromedia Flash projects is ever-increasing. The fit between
products is a natural. There's been grassroots demand for this event. ACID
+ Macromedia Flash will showcase the synergies between these
industry-standard applications."
"Adding audio to Macromedia Flash content really brings them alive," says
Jeremy Clark, Macromedia Flash product manager. "ACID is a great tool
for the job. Its loop-based method of creating music is a perfect
compliment to the ability of Macromedia Flash to reuse elements without
adding to project file size. It's a fun and easy way to add audio to
Macromedia Flash."
Details on ACID + Macromedia Flash can be found at
www.acidplanet.com/contests. The contest will run through November 1,
2001. The Grand Prize winner of ACID + Macromedia Flash will receive
suites of software from Sonic Foundry and Macromedia; a multimedia PC
from AMD; and a collection of ACID and Macromedia Flash instructional
books from Sams Publishing.
