Music Technology Distance Learning Course from Audio Masterclass October 27, 2001
Audio Masterclass has announced a new 36-week Diploma in Music Technology to
complement the existing Diploma in Sound Engineering and Music Recording, accepting
enrollments now to start in January 2002. There will initially be only 20 places available for
students on this course.
The Audio Masterclass Diploma in Music Technology aims to prepare students to enter industry
and work towards success in any of the following disciplines:

- Hi-Tech Music Production
- Music Technology Retail and Marketing
- Music Technology Manufacturing Product Specialist
The Audio Masterclass philosophy is to provide a solid foundation of basic knowledge from
which the student is able to follow their own interests. Work is assessed to
standards of the music industry and a 'real world' professional attitude is encouraged. Weekly
modules each consist of three units including learning texts, research projects and practical
projects. Assessment is rigorous and highly personalized to each student. Audio Masterclass
aims to give each student as much personal attention as they would receive in a traditional
classroom environment, or even more.

Course Director David Mellor has been an Audio Educator since 1986 and designed the UK's
City & Guilds of London Institute 1820 Sound Engineering qualification. He has published four
books on sound engineering and broadcast video, and over 300 articles for journals such as
Audio Media, Studio Sound and Sound on Sound.
