MIMF Announces Online Mandolin Building CourseBuild Your Own F-Style or A-Style

The Musical Instrument Makers Forum, in association
with Michael Lewis Instruments
(www.svlg.org/member/lewis/default.htm), announced their next
interactive online instrument-making course: Building an F-Style or
A-Style Mandolin.
The 20-week course will be taught by master luthier
and veteran MIMForum teacher Michael Lewis, and will run from January
30th through June 19th, 2002. This course is not intended for beginners
to instrument construction, and it is assumed all students will have
built at least one fretted instrument from scratch, including bending
the sides and binding the edges, before they take this course. There
will be a fee charged for participation.
Lessons will be posted on the
MIMForum on a weekly basis, and students will use the Forum to ask
whatever questions come up as they build. More information can be found
