Sonomic, the world's largest online library of professional
samples and sound FX, today announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Ableton AG. Under the terms of the
deal, Sonomic will be the exclusive online provider of over 120,000 samples, multisamples and sound FX for Ableton's new
audio software, Live 1.0.
Live 1.0, which is scheduled to hit store shelves in October, has been developed as the first audio software for live music
performance. Live allows real-time audio production with a drag and drop interface, so you can record, arrange, edit and jam
with audio on the fly. Combining Live with Sonomic's vast sound library will give users a creative palette that is virtually
limitless. Live users will be able to access Sonomic directly through the Live software interface, allowing them to select and
download sounds that can then be dropped directly into a Live session.
"Sonomic and Ableton have both created products that are radically changing the way people produce and perform music,
and we are proud to working with a company as cutting-edge and forward thinking as Ableton," said Sonomic COO Douglas
Price. "With the completion of this partnership, Live users will now be able to instantly turn their musical inspiration into
musical reality."
"We are very pleased to be working with Sonomic to provide Live users with instant access to over 120,000 sounds," said
Ableton CEO, Gerhard Behles. "Live is finally going to fill a void that has always existed in audio software, and we are
looking forward to working with Sonomic to help fuel the next stage of evolution for the audio industry."
