Logic Platinum Now Supports Audio Units on OS X October 10, 2002
Emagic has released Logic Platinum 5.4 for Mac OS X, their first
host program to support Audio Units for musicians and audio producers.
"The Emagic Audio Units Developer Kit has been in high demand as developers
have been very enthusiastic about Audio Units," comments Chris Adam, Emagic
CEO. "This clearly demonstrates strong support for an open and modern
standard, with the goal of providing all users with the most compatibility
and flexibility."
Manufacturers can easily port existing software instruments and plug-ins to
support, especially with the assistance of the Audio Units Developer Kit.
In comparison to previous plug-in formats, Audio Units offers improved
handling of multiple audio streams (for example, from stereo to x.1
surround), excellent compatibility with Mac OS X applications, robust
graphics and editor support with individually sizeable windows and all the
advantages of shorter development time. With the added flexibility of the
Rex file format, Logic users will now take full advantage of Rex libraries
under Mac OS X.
Logic Platinum 5.4 for Mac OS X is now available as free download for all
registered owners of Logic Platinum 5 for Mac.
