Roland Announces MC-909 Drop A Beat CompetitionPrizes up for grabs include an Edirol PCR-50 controller. September 4, 2003Roland has kicked off
of the Roland MC-909 Drop A Beat Competition. Those with the skillz are
encouraged to send their original MC-909 composition to Roland for a chance
to win prizes like an Edirol PCR-50 Controller Keyboard. The Drop A
Beat Competition started on September 1, 2003 and runs until October
31, 2003. Entrants must submit a 2-5 minute composition that uses the
MC-909 Sampling Groovebox exclusively. Any style will be accepted, and
participants can even upload an MP3 right to the www.mc-909.com website.
The winners will be announced by November 10, 2003. The grand prize winner
will receive an Edirol PCR-50 Controller Keyboard; second place will
receive an SRX-Series Wave Expansion Board of their choice; and third place
will receive a MC-909 Groove Bag from Roland Corporation U.S. All three
winning entries will be posted on the MC-909 website following the contest.
The MC-909 workstation is based on a new generation XV synthesis engine with up to 272MB of sampling
RAM.
This workstation also boasts 800 new Patches, 64 Rhythm Sets
and 693 all-new waveforms with SRX expansion, plus a USB port for exchanging samples and sequences with a
PC.
This competition is open to all United States residents.
