Digidesign announced a new plug-in offer for SampleCell and Soft SampleCell customers who want to begin using SampleTank 2 XL, the latest "Sample Workstation" plug-in for Pro Tools from IK Multimedia. Now through December 20, 2003, registered owners of SampleCell products can visit store.digidesign.com to purchase SampleTank 2 XL for $349 (regularly $499 -- a $150 savings).
With easy import of both SampleCell Instruments and Banks, users can now bring SampleCell libraries easily into SampleTank 2 XL to take advantage of a host of new sonic possibilities.
SampleTank 2 XL offers 1,500 new sounds and nearly five gigabytes of material on eight discs. It includes a wide range of sounds from pianos, guitars, basses, drums and percussion to full orchestral, acoustic, ethnic, brass, synths and more.
In addition, SampleTank 2 XL offers a host of features that were not previously available in SampleCell. The following highlights some of SampleTank 2 XL's new functionality that users can take advantage of through this special offer:
- Sample playback and two additional engines for Pitch Shift, Time Stretch and a formant preserving STRETCH mode. Users can now have independent control of the pitch, tempo and harmonics of instruments, loops and phrases.
- SampleTank 2 XL allows chords to be played with single phrases at any tempo, and the ability to alter the melody line in real time with a keyboard.
- 32 built-in DSP effects including components from IK Multimedia's award-winning AmpliTube and T-RackS inside. Users can run guitar samples through amps and cabinets, and run drum kits through tube compressors and limiters, all with total recall and automation of every parameter.
- Built-in loop sync function that can take loops with different BPMs and sync them all to the Pro Tools sequencer tempo. Loops can also be played in SampleTank 2 XL with independent control of the pitch and tempo, giving users the features of remix programs inside a plug-in instrument.
- Support for all popular platforms including Windows, Mac OS 9 and OS X, and native RTAS. Plus, users can import SampleCell Banks and Instruments, Akai, AIFF, WAV and SDII to manipulate sounds through SampleTank 2 XL's toolbox of DSP and sample technology right from the SampleTank 2 XL interface.
