Taylor Guitars has launched its 30th Anniversary Sweepstakes, a contest designed to promote the company's 30th Anniversary Limited Editions and 30th Anniversary Commemorative models.

The 30th Anniversary Limiteds are Taylor's first "short-scale" guitars, with easily-navigated fingerboards of 24-7/8-inches, "revoiced" Grand Concert bracing, a slotted headstock, and ornate 30th Anniversary inlays on the fretboard and backstrapped peghead. The 30th Anniversary Commemoratives are upgraded versions of each steel-string guitar in Taylor's line, with laser-cut "leaf pattern" soundhole rosette inlays that range from simple, elegant rock maple, to extravagant arrangements of maple, ebony, abalone, and mother-of-pearl.

Contestants in the 30th Anniversary Sweepstakes have multiple chances to win. The online entry form found on Taylor's web site provides an unlimited number of blanks for referring friends. Taylor will contact all referrals via email, and offer them a chance to enter. If they win a prize, the person who referred them will win the same prize.

Grand Prize (up to two winners) is a Limited Edition XXX-RS, with solid, premium Indian rosewood back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top.

First Prize (up to two sets of winners) is a trip for two to San Diego, the home of Taylor Guitars (the Taylor factory is in El Cajon, in San Diego's East County). The trip will coincide with Taylor's 30th Anniversary Celebration event in mid-October.

Taylor also will award more than 100 Weekly Prizes over the course of the contest (entries will be accepted until September 30, with the Grand Prize drawing taking place on October 1). Weekly Prizes include a Baby Taylor, a copy of the hardcover coffee table book, Taylor Guitars: 30 Years of a New American Classic, autographed by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, a Taylor 30th Anniversary Bomber Jacket, and Taylor 30th Anniversary Polo and T-shirts.
