July 21, 2000HHB is featuring the Ashdown Engineering 'Resonator' acoustic combos and AAH212H acoustic wedge combo, at the NAMM Convention, at the Nashville Convention Center, Booth 1535. Exclusively distributed by HHB in North and South America, Ashdown amplification combines innovative technology with classic, timeless aesthetics.
David Beesley, president of HHB Communications, says, "Acoustic players are extremely enthusiastic about the pure, sweet tone of Ashdown acoustic amps. Just one look at an Ashdown amplifier, and you know it's something very special, but it's the tone that really makes the difference. We're very pleased to be expanding Ashdown's entire range of amplifier products here at NAMM."
Paying tribute to the classic designs of the early resonator guitars, the new Ashdown Reso 1 and 2 acoustic amplifiers are housed in beautifully engraved, chrome-plated cabinets, and share all the features of their relevant Radiator counterparts.
For the Reso 1, that means a 60-watt bridged power section, a custom 8" speaker incorporating a dual tweeter array, and comprehensive preamp facilities including a switchable input for active and piezo pick-ups, a notch filter top tune out feedback, bass and treble controls, an Alesis digital reverb, and a balanced XLR DI output.
The Reso 2 adds a more powerful 120-watt power section, a passive Auxiliary Bass Radiator to extend the low-end energy, a twin channel preamp with active, piezo, and low impedance inputs, seven-band EQ, dual notch filters with variable frequencies and Qs, and a more sophisticated digital effects section. In addition, the Reso 2 also includes a dual triode vacuum tube preamp stage under variable control, introducing a unique sweetness and presence to the sound.
The third new Ashdown acoustic amplifier at NAMM is the AAH212H. Combining a 120-watt rms bridge mode power section with a custom designed 12" speaker and HF horn in a wedge-style cabinet, the AAH212H is ideal for use as a dedicated acoustic instrument monitor. In smaller venues, the angled baffle significantly enhances sound dispersal.
Comprehensive twin-channel preamp facilities are exactly the same as those featured on the current Ashdown Acoustic Radiator 2 combo, and therefore include active, piezo and low-impedance inputs, seven-band EQ, dual notch filters with variable frequencies and Q points, an Alesis digital reverb, a VU input level meter, and a separate, dual triode vacuum tube stage for added sweetness and presence. The Ashdown AAH212H acoustic wedge combo is available in cherry, walnut, bakelite, and vinyl finishes. For more information, visit the Ashdown web site at www.ashdownmusic.co.uk. |
