July 21, 2000Audio-Technica announces the new ATW-7373 Multi-channel UHF Wireless Handheld Condenser System. The ATW-7373 combines the condenser element from the AT4033 Studio Microphone, with the RF performance of the Audio-Technica 7000 Series Frequency-agile UHF Wireless System. Featuring studio quality sound, operation in the 700 MHz frequency band, a choice of 100 PLL-synthesized channels, and true diversity operation, the ATW-7373 Handheld Condenser System sets a new benchmark in wireless performance.
The ATW-7373 Wireless System consists of the ATW-T73 handheld condenser microphone/transmitter and the ATW-R73 true diversity receiver. At the heart of the ATW-T73 is the same element that is used in the AT4033 microphone. This provides a real step up in wireless audio quality, delivering rich sound, natural top end, and superb off-axis rejection, all in a rugged, roadworthy transmitter with enhanced internal shock mounting.
The ATW-R73 receiver features an
all-metal housing for superior shielding as well as dual independent receiver sections. Its "true diversity" operation selects the superior signal from the two independent
receiver sections, thus reducing dropout,s and minimizing multi-path distortion. The receiver is half-rack size, which permits side-by-side mounting of two units in a single 19" rack space. Balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (1/4") audio output jacks, a ground-lift
switch for the XLR output, adjustable volume, squelch controls, and RF/AF/A-B front panel indicators are also provided.
A wide range of accessories are available for the ATW-7373, including the new
ATW-A20 UHF Ground-plane Antenna System, the ATW-D70 UHF Active Unity-gain Antenna Distribution System, and the ATW-RA1 Rack-mount Antenna Kit.
"The ATW-7373 was designed as a direct result of input we received from leading artists and FOH engineers over the past three years," stated Audio-Technica Live Sound Market Manager Joel Singer. "We tested the system on several high-profile tours, including the Backstreet Boys, Creed, Kiss, Michael W. Smith, and Tina Turner. Every engineer had the same response: the unit sounded like a wired mic, with better rejection than any other wireless condenser."
