Berklee Basic Guitar: Phase 1 and 2, by William Leavitt

These books are an essential resource for every beginning guitar student. This modern instructional method is designed for individual study or a classroom environment. Guitar technique and reading skills are developed through two-, three-, and four-part arrangements of both traditional and newly-composed music. To round out your training there is also an introduction to chord playing. Phase 2 is for beginning to intermediate students who are ready to progress beyond the basic skills, and is ideal for developing your ability to create a unique and personal sound with the guitar.

Reading and Advanced Reading Studies For Guitar

These Berklee Workshops are designed for beginning through advanced guitarists who want to develop their reading skills, build their technical ability, sharpen their high register reading, and take their playing expertise to the next level. The first volume covers positions one through seven in all keys, while introducing scales, arpeggios, written-out chords, and a variety of rhythms and time signautres. The second volume continues with studies in all keys, using positions eight through twelve, and utilizing all major, minor, and symmetric scales. The Berklee Guitar Workshop series offers comprehensive approaches to developing the entire spectrum of technical and intuitive jazz guitar skills. From country to rock, and rhythm to lead, the Berklee Workshop series will greatly improve your musical skills.

Jim Kelly's Guitar Workshop Series, by Jim Kelly

Jim Kelly's Guitar Workshop series are integrated, interactive, instructional books, CDs, videos, and DVD, designed to help guitarists improve their playing through songs and studies in jazz, blues, Latin, r&b, and more. The songs Jim Kelly has written for this series are designed to help you learn how to play in the style of guitar greats like Kenny Burrell, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Joe Pass, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and others. The tunes represent a cross-section of modern guitar styles and song forms. With the DVD, students can tune up their guitar with Jim and begin playing along as he explains how to master licks and capture the sound created by some of the world's greatest guitar players.
