Boss Introduces AW-3 Dynamic Wah Pedal

July 21, 2000

BOSS is proud to premiere the AW-3 Dynamic Wah compact pedal. This new pedal not only re-creates some of BOSS’ best vintage auto-wah effects, but also incorporates human voice-type wah sounds through a unique new "Humanizer" mode, and resonant synth-type wah sounds using a new "Sharp" mode.

The AW-3 offers a variety of classic wah effects, including dynamic sounds for guitar or bass where the amount of wah is dependent upon picking dynamics—perfect for funk music. Of course, the AW-3 can also be used to produce automatic up-and-down wah cycles at a fixed rate or, using Tempo mode, users can sync the auto-wah effect to the music simply tapping the pedal to the desired tempo.

In addition to these classic wah effects, the AW-3’s new "Humanizer" mode can be used for creating human voice-type wah effects with distinct vowel sounds, bringing guitarists an entirely new set of "talking" effects. And for next-generation wah sounds with increased filtering and resonance, the AW-3 even offers a resonant synth-type "Sharp" mode.

Connections to the AW-3 include a standard 1/4-inch Guitar input and a dedicated Bass input for processing bass guitars, plus an Expression Pedal input for traditional wah or Humanizer control using an optional expression pedal. Like all BOSS compact pedals, the AW-3 carries a 5-year limited warranty.
