July 23, 2000Crest Audio will be showing their popular X-Series of consoles featuring the VCA based version, the aptly named X-VCA. The X-VCA possesses numerous features that are found only in higher priced consoles. Most notable is the VCA control of input channels & analog sub groups plus linked (stereo) dynamics on all sub groups. The dynamics include compression, limiting and gating in the form of a downward expander.
At the heart of the X-VCA is an uncompromised input EQ system; each mono channel includes a variable high pass filter and four band fully parametric EQ with high and low frequencies switchable to bell shaped curves. Parametric output EQ and adjustable RMS limiters, to assist the engineer in handling local noise ordinances, are included on the mono and stereo outputs.
The X-VCA also features the same MIDI scene mute system as found on the premium performance Crest Vx console. It offers 128 computer controlled sequenced scene
mutes plus 8 manual scene mutes. The X-VCA consoles MIDI section is ideal for theatrical applications. The X-VCA is offered in 24, 32, 40, or 48 mono input channels
plus 4 stereo line only input modules. The console comes with an external switching
power supply that is easily connected to a second (optional) redundant supply that ensures peace of mind operation. For more information on the full range of Crest products, contact:
