Electro-Voice Showcases Sx Loudspeaker Series at Summer NAMM

Systems Combine Superior Speaker Performance for a Variety of Applications

Sx80 Speaker System
July 27, 2000

Electro-Voice® showcases the latest in state-of-the-art loudspeaker systems at Summer NAMM (Demo Room 2010 and Booth 5311) with the advanced designs of its Sx Series speakers, providing great sound for a variety of applications.

Leading the Sx Series is the Sx80 speaker system, the latest in the trend-setting product line. The Sx80 is designed to address the needs of sound contractors seeking a compact, high-performance system with rugged portability and great sound reproduction from a smaller speaker. In addition to the Sx80, the entire Sx Series includes the: SX100+, Sx300 and Sx500+ speaker systems; Sb121 and Sb180 subwoofers; and the S40 monitor.

"One of the greatest challenges in pro audio is constructing a lightweight, compact speaker system that offers the sonic capabilities of larger systems," says Jamie Bergen, EV product category manager for loudspeakers. "The Sx80 meets this challenge by employing the same technological advances engineered into the larger Sx300 speaker, yielding a system that is easy to transport and set up or install, yet capable of delivering big sound." The Sx80's cabinet dimensions are an ultra-compact 15¾ inches H x 11½ inches W x 8¾ inches D and the system weighs just 16 pounds.

The Sx80 is also available with a weather-resistant, full-faced grille (Sx80PI) or an added 70.7/100-volt, 100-watt transformer (Sx80PIX). For a wider bandwidth, users can combine the Sx80 with the Sb121 bass speaker for a matched system that will thump your chest, yet stay clean and pure throughout the entire frequency range.

EV's Ring-Mode Decoupling™ (RMD™) gives the clarity and definition of a studio monitor by literally eliminating the sound-coloring resonant modes created by the enclosure and the components. Their tonal fidelity does not deteriorate with increasing sound levels.
