Electro-Voice N/DYM UHF Wireless Microphone Series Featuring ClearScan

New Series Offers 10-channel Frequency Agility and EV's Latest Wireless Innovation

July 26, 2000

Electro-Voice® is displaying its N/DYM UHF wireless microphone series featuring ClearScan™ Auto Channel Select at Summer NAMM, Demo Room 2010 and Booth 5311. Combining quality, ergonomics, rugged design and affordability, the N/DYM wireless systems feature 10-channel frequency agility, a basic requirement for today's musician who has to perform in highly RF-challenged environments.

ClearScan™ Auto Channel Select--the latest in wireless innovations from EV--fully automates the process of channel selection and system set-up. This feature automates system set-up by scanning the 10 UHF frequencies and finding the clearest operating channel in the RF environment. Operation in the UHF frequency band is further enhanced by the Secure-Phase™ diversity system for clear and drop-out free audio.

"We designed the N/DYM Series UHF wireless microphone system to provide the enhanced performance features of higher-priced systems at a lower price point," says Joel Johnson, EV product category manager for wireless microphones. "A working band using this new system can go into RF-challenged areas secure in the knowledge their show will go on without problems, thanks to ClearScan™."

The N/DYM wireless transmitters offer adjustable audio gain control, on/off and mute switches, 8 to 10 hours of battery life on a single 9V battery, rotary channel select switch and a "low battery" indicator. The bodypack transmitters feature a flexible 1/4 wave whip antenna, while the handheld transmitters contain an internal high-efficiency antenna.

In addition to ClearScan and Secure-Phase, N/DYM wireless receivers feature a ½ rack width metal receiver housing design, fixed front-mount antennas for quick system set-up, balanced mic-level XLR output, level-adjustable unbalanced ¼-inch output, a seven-segment LED channel display, adjustable squelch control, Tx On and Diversity LED indicators and channel-change lock-out. Single or double rackmount kits are also available (the RM-S and RM-D).

EV's N/DYM wireless systems are available in seven different full-system configurations, and as individual components. Full system configurations are:

  • Handheld transmitter systems: the NRU-N1 featuring the N/D167 dynamic element, the NRU-N2 featuring the N/D267a dynamic element and the NRU-N7 featuring the N/D767a dynamic element.
  • 3 Bodypack systems: the NRU-L10 featuring the OLM-10 omnidirectional lavalier mic; the NRU-L20 featuring the ULM20 cardioid lavalier mic; and the NRU-H1 featuring the HM2 headworn microphone.
  • A dedicated Guitar System: the NGU featuring circuitry specially designed to handle a guitar signal. Unlike many wireless guitar systems, the NGU leaves tone "intact," a consideration for those who own vintage guitars and amplifiers.

Individual components available include the NBPU body pack transmitters; the NHTU-N1, NHTU-N2 and NHTU-N7 handheld transmitters; as well as the NRU receiver.
