Korg Ships Windows Version of the
Oasys PCI Computer CardFeaturing
Open Architecture Synthesis, Effects, & Audio I/O July 22, 2000Following the successful launch of their OASYS PCI for the Mac, Korg is now shipping the Windows 95/98 software supporting this state-of-the-art computer card. The OASYS PCI integrates high-quality synthesis, effects processing, and audio input and output into a single, professional PCI audio card that complements any MIDI sequencer or software-based digital audio workstation. Its onboard DSP power helps relieve the burden normally placed on the host CPU when using plug-ins and applications providing similar functionality.
The OASYS PCI's synthesizers represent a continual evolution from Korg's OASYS project. There are hundreds of sounds based on 28 algorithms, which are plug-ins loaded from disk (allowing for easy upgrades and expansion).
Also included are 135 effects algorithms. The majority of the effects from Korg's award-winning Trinity workstation are included everything from standard reverbs to unique effects such as talking modulator. Additional new effects are included as well. These effects can process the onboard synthesizers, tracks from digital audio programs, and live audio inputs simultaneously.
The OASYS PCI supports all major audio and MIDI standards, for compatibility with virtually every audio and MIDI program. For use on a PC running Windows 95/98, Korg recommends a 200MHz Pentium to run synths and effects, and a 300MHz Pentium to run it alongside an Audio/MIDI sequencer.
The OASYS cross-platform version (Mac/PC) is currently available with a list price of $2200.00. For more information, visit their web site at www.korg.com. |
