Mackie Introduces New Active Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker

SRM1530
July 22, 2000

Mackie Designs Inc. announces the introduction of the new SR1530 active sound reinforcement loudspeaker. The SR1530 employs several new proprietary technologies which combine to yield an exceptional price/performance ratio.

The SR1530 is a three-way, tri-amplified, horn loaded, active system designed for high definition and extreme output levels. RCF precision components of the SR1530 include a 15-inch woofer with inside/outside high temperature coil technology, a high-output, horn loaded 6-inch midrange speaker, and a one-inch exit compression driver mounted on a wide dispersion, extreme output high/mid horn design.

The SR1530 is powered by a unique, integrated three-channel amplifier module that generates 500 watts of total power. Integrated electronics also feature active time correction and phase alignment, electronic equalization, and electronic system and component protection circuitry. The SR1530 also includes a single line level control.

Mackie engineered the SR1530 trapezoidal cabinet to withstand "Leona Helmsley" levels of roadie and rental company abuse. How? First, Mackie molds the top and bottom of the enclosure using a high-impact resistant composite resin. The front, back and sides are constructed of heavy duty, multi-ply laminated wood used by fine cabinetmakers and in expensive hi-fi speaker systems. SR1530 are correctly weight-balanced for stable stand-mounting, two large grip side handles, plus top and bottom handles provide for optimal portability, set-up, and repositioning.

At only $1199 US Suggested Retail, the SR1530 once again demonstrates Mackie's prowess in pushing radically new levels of affordable quality into the professional audio market.
