Roland is proud to announce the VGA-7 V-Guitar Amplifier, the most advanced modeling guitar amplifier in history. This sophisticated yet easy-to-use guitar amp starts with acclaimed COSM Guitar Amp and Speaker Cabinet Modeling, high-quality digital effects, and Preset and User memories for convenient access to a wide range of incredible tones. But unlike other modeling amps, the VGA-7 amplifier takes a giant technological leap with breakthrough COSM modeling of electric, acoustic, and hollow-bodied guitars; pickups with pickup placement; instant open, Nashville and user-defined tunings; and incredible polyphonic pitch effects like a "Digital Capo"—all via its 13-pin "GK-Ready" Divided Pickup input and the optional GK-2A Divided Pickup.

The VGA-7 is a 130-watt ( 65W + 65W) stereo combo amplifier featuring two 12" custom speakers plus two high-frequency horn drivers for true full-range sound. Utilizing Roland’s COSM technology, the amp gives guitarists instant access to a wide range of modern and vintage amp tones. Via the standard 1/4" guitar input, guitarists can access a total of 20 amp models—including vintage and modern tube amps, solid state and acoustic amps, plus speaker cabinet simulations. These models can be tailored with the VGA-Series’ Gain, Volume, 3-band EQ, and Presence knobs, which respond just like the controls of the "modeled" amp in use.

Where things get very interesting, however, is in the VGA-7’s modeling of distinct guitars . These guitar models include electric, hollow-body, and miked and unmiked acoustics; pickups and pickup placements; and dynamic "guitar-meets-synth" sounds—all of which can be tailored extensively and played from any electric or steel-string acoustic guitar equipped with the optional 13-pin GK-2A Divided Pickup. There are also instant open, Nashville, and user-defined tunings, plus a world’s first "Digital Capo" function.

In addition to its modeling capabilities, the VGA-7 includes four independent effects processors with 15 of the most popular Roland/BOSS effects algorithms. These include reverb, chorus, delay, wah, flanger and more, plus unique BOSS effects like "Slow Gear." All effects are controllable via optional footswitches, allowing realtime Patch selection, tap tempo, and more. Digital program memories allow instant access to 80 Preset and 80 User Patches, making it easy to store and recall favorite amp settings—complete with COSM models, effects, and EQ.

Additional connections to the VGA-7 includes an Audio Mix input for connecting external devices like the GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer, a foot controller input, foot pedal and expression pedal inputs, and stereo line outs for incredible recording applications.
