Sabine Announces New NEX-5000 NexFX(TM) Pedal Tuner

New pedal from makers of the AX-2000 and STX chromatic tuners offers backlit, large-letter display

July 22, 2000

Sabine, Inc. announces a fast, accurate, easy-to-read and rugged pedal tuner for guitar and bass players that also powers other pedals, including the Sabine NexFX Pedal series.

The Sabine NEX-5000 NexFX Pedal Tuner captures notes fast and accurately, and holds them longer for quick and easy tuning.

But more than just an excellent tuner, the sturdy, all-metal-case NexFX Pedal Tuner is as functional as it is eye pleasing.

The stage- and studio-friendly NexFX Pedal Tuner has a bright, backlit LED display and is easy to read and understand even under the most demanding conditions. The NexFX Pedal Tuner’s 11-LED display simulates a bar graph that sweeps to the right or left showing how sharp or flat the note is.

Versatility is important to today’s guitarist and the Sabine NexFX Pedal Tuner is right there to help with a Flat-Tune function allowing guitarists to quickly transpose from standard tuning. In addition, a Calibrate function allows for tuning to other than A = 440 Hz.

Designed for expanding possibilities, the NexFX Pedal Tuner has two parallel outputs — that means the same signal can split to different sound processing equipment or to other Sabine NexFX Pedals.

The NexFX Pedal Tuner is easy on power as well. Powered by a 9-volt battery or Sabine External Power Adapter, the unit turns on when a 1/4" inch plug is inserted into the input. Under battery power, the unit automatically goes into idle mode when no signal passes for 30 seconds.

In addition, there is a 9-volt power input and output, allowing all Sabine pedals (and most others) to be powered by just one Sabine External Power Adapter. And battery changing is quick and easy: lift the cover off with a squeeze, pop a new battery in and drop the cover back with a snap.

A heavy-duty foot switch activates a hard-wire bypass - works either silently (for studio use) or with a click you can feel (for stage).
