Shure Introduces New Drum Mic Kit at Summer NAMM

Turnkey Package to Include a Complete Miking System for a Great Price

July 23, 2000

Shure Incorporated, the leading manufacturer of microphones and audio electronics, today introduced the new DMK57-52 Drum Mic Kit, a pre-packaged selection of microphones and mounting hardware ideally suited for drummers. The kit comprises three SM57 microphones, one Beta 52® microphone, three A56D drum mounting systems, and a lightweight and durable carrying case.

The most famous drummers worldwide, including Dave Weckl, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam) rely on Shure mics. Famed jazz-fusion drummer, Dennis Chambers, said, "I always depend on the warm and true sound of Shure microphones for my drum kit."

A reliable and high-performing choice for snare and toms, as well as overhead applications, Shure's cardioid dynamic SM57 microphones feature a contoured frequency response which reproduces sound accurately and without coloration. Perfect for the kick drum, the supercardioid Beta 52 derives its low-end punch and sonic presence from a carefully tailored frequency response. Equipped with its own pneumatic shock mount, the Beta 52 is additionally outfitted with an integral locking stand mount to facilitate quick-and-easy set-up.

A key element of the kit, Shure's A56D universal drum mounting systems, can be used in a wide variety of positions on drum rims or microphone and cymbal stands. Assembled with non-removable parts to prevent the loss of individual pieces, each A56D mounting system is small, secure, and rugged in design to optimize its use within stage and studio environments.
