August 1, 2000Tama is now offering Rockstar Custom prepack kits that includes an 18 x 22"-at the same price as their standard pre-pack with a 16 x 22" bass drum. The new RP522DEF kit is in the configuration Tama refers to as a "Fusion Kit," meaning that all the toms are rack toms only. The set-up includes 10", 12", 14" deep toms and a 5 1/2" x 14 matching finish wood snare drum. Also included with no price increase is the new HP200 Iron Cobra Jr. pedal.
The set is available in CAM Custom Amber, CBL Custom Blue, CCC Custom Charcoal, and CMH Custom Mahogany finishes.
All Rockstar Custom drums feature 9mm/7 ply shells consisting of 1 lacquer finished outer ply of basswood, 5 plies of Philippine mahogany and 1 inner ply of basswood. All Rockstar Custom rack toms feature the Star-Cast free suspension mounting system.
