Summer NAMM 2000

PRESS RELEASE

D?Addario Guitar & Bass String Multi-Packs

July 22, 2000

Since it’s a well-known fact that most guitar and bass players buy more than one set of strings at a time, D’Addario is now offering 3-D Packs and Bass Twin Packs, multi-packs which save dealers and consumers money and use less packaging. The packs will be on display at Summer NAMM, Booths 2001 and 2111.

When studies began showing that consumers generally purchase more than one set of strings per visit to their music retailer, D’Addario wasted no time developing the 3-D Packs, which include three sets of strings, sealed in D’Addario’s Corrosion Intercept packaging for freshness, packaged in one box. The savings from the reduction in packaging were passed on to dealers and consumers as a 10% discount over the price of three normal sets. They were an immediate hit, and the company followed up with D’Addario Bass Twin Packs, two sets of bass strings packaged in one box (and sealed in Corrosion Intercept bags, of course) for a savings of 25%.

"D’Addario multiple set bass and guitar packs just make sense," remarks D’Addario Brand Manager Peter D’Addario. "Players often buy more than one set at a time, and 3-D and Bass Twin Packs allow retailers to offer our sets at a better discount to the consumer and to significantly increase their store’s profits." D’Addario 3-D Packs are available in EXL110, EXL115 and EXL120 electric strings and EJ15, EJ16 and EJ17 acoustic strings. Bass Twin Packs are available in EXL160, EXL165, EXL170, EXL170-5 and EXL220 electric stings.
