Gibson Reissues the Original Mini Humbucker
July 23, 2000

When Gibson introduced the Les Paul Deluxe in 1969, it incorporated the smaller mini-humbucker pickups that had previously been on certain Gibson-made Epiphone guitars. With its smaller size, narrower magnetic field and unique design combination, featuring both adjustable pole pieces and bar Alnico II magnets, the mini-humbucker produced a bright, full range and focused output while retaining its famous Gibson humbucker performance. With the successful reintroduction of the famed 1969 Les Paul Deluxe Reissue, Gibson proudly offers the replica of this sought-after historic pickup, authentic in every detail, including the creme plastic mounting. Every specification is carefully duplicated, using the same special enamel coated wire, Alnico II magnets and vintage braided lead wire. The mini-humbucker is suitable for either bridge or neck position in both chrome or gold plated German Nickel-silver covers and features vintage braided two-conductor wiring. Each pickup is double wax-potted to eliminate microphonic feedback. As with all Gibson Pickups, the new Original Mini Humbucker comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Models available:
