July 23, 2000

Following the extraordinary success of the A4 Acoustibass, Goodin guitars have announced the arrival of the A5. The A5 is an acoustic bass designed for electric bass players. The A5 produces acoustic bass sounds from a lightweight instrument that is only slightly larger than a standard solid body bass. The two-chambered body design found in all of the A-Series instruments is also at work in the A5. This design resists feedback as well as the negative effects that loud stage levels can have on top vibration. A cello inspired bracing pattern further controls vibration of the solid cedar top. The rock maple neck is available in a fretted version with a rosewood fingerboard as well as a fretless model with an ebony fingerboard. Both necks feature a 34" scale and a 16" fingerboard radius. The custom electronics include an under-saddle ribbon transducer and preamp by L.R.Baggs. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.godinguitars.com/.
