Mackie UK recently held a successful launch party for their new HDR24/96 Hard Disk Recorder, at Metropolis Studio A, the Powerhouse, Chiswick, London. Greg Mackie was on hand personally to demonstrate the HDR24/96, underlining the importance Mackie places on the launch of the product in Europe. Also present were Mackie heavyweights, Peter Watts (Head of Technical) and International Customer Service gurus Brian Stan and Pat Lambert. More than 150 key industry people attended the event, including Tommy D (Catatonia), Bill Nelson, representatives from Radio 1's The Dream Team, Green Gartside (Scritti Politti), Martin Rushent (The Human League), and numerous studio owners, producers, and engineers. Two HDR24/96 demo stations were running throughout the day, showcasing HDR alone, and also in conjunction with Mackie's Digital 8 Bus mixing console. HDR24/96 is a 24 track 24 bit Hard Disk Recorder with full sample accurate waveform editing software built in, which requires no external computer to operate. Simply plug in a mouse and screen and start editing. HDR24/96 utilizes super low cost UDMA IDE drives, which makes the prospect of removable hard drives being the recording and backup media for your project a reality. Greg Mackie was delighted with the response from those attending. "It was remarkable how many well known artists and successful record producers made the effort to come and see our new product. We were overwhelmed with people all day," Greg said. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.mackie.com/.
