Roland Presents Jamtracks(TM): Interactive Jam Sessions on ZIP(TM) Disk

July 22, 2000

Roland is proud to introduce JamTracks, an interactive disk of jam sessions/backing arrangements now included with every VS-840GX Digital Studio Workstation. This Zip250 disk contains professionally recorded arrangements in nine different musical styles—giving guitarists and other instrumentalists an easy, interactive, and fun way to jam with talented musicians while using the VS-840GX.

Unlike a backing /drum machine with preset patterns, all nine of the JamTracks arrangements feature live musicians, including some of the best session players in the business. These talented performers were enlisted by Roland to write and perform the JamTracks arrangements, and were recorded by professional engineers in world-class studios.

The JamTracks disk contains nine different songs representing a variety of musical styles including Slow Blues, Minor Blues, Blues Shuffle, R&B, Classic R&B, Rock, Latin Rock, Alternative, and Country. These arrangements feature a complete rhythm section including drums, bass, keyboards and other instruments. Each part is recorded separately with the same track layout for each song—bass on track six, drums on tracks seven and eight, etc.—making it really easy for musicians to simply load a song and jam over the pre-recorded backing arrangement. All songs include a pre-programmed guitar insert effect perfect for that style of music, allowing guitarists to record their own solos and performances to an open track with great tone.

Thanks to their outstanding musicianship and sound quality, JamTracks recordings can also be incorporated into new User compositions. For example, users can take their favorite drum track and use it as the foundation for a new song, replacing unused tracks with original material. With JamTracks, Roland brings musicians a new level of interactive fun via a convenient Zip250 disk—ready to be loaded into the VS-840GX.
