Roland Introduces RSM-90 Studio Monitor

July 22, 2000

Roland is proud to premiere the RSM-90 Studio Monitor, a two-way reference monitor designed for nearfield monitoring in professional and project studios, as well as multimedia and home theater applications. Using proprietary crossover circuitry, a bi-wiring connection, and front-firing dual bass ports, this high-quality monitor delivers extremely flat frequency response and phase-correct imaging.

Built using the same audiophile-quality components as Roland’s DS-90A 24-bit Digital Reference Monitors—including a 6.5" foamed polypropylene low-frequency driver and 1" high-frequency driver—the passive RSM-90’s deliver transparent sound, minimal phase shift and extremely low distortion. This exceptional sound is the result of the RSM-90’s proprietary crossover circuitry and advanced 2nd order filtering, which minimizes the phase shift typically found in passive monitors and ensures a flat response. Front-firing dual bass ports permit placement near walls, while magnetic shielding allows the RSM-90’s to be used near computer monitors.

The RSM-90’s can accept up to 270W of peak input power from any high-quality amplifier. Connections are made using gold-plated binding posts, which are bi-wired for optimum performance and crystal-clear sound. The RSM-90’s outstanding specs and competitive pricing make it the perfect choice for nearfield monitoring in professional studios, or for use in multimedia presentations and surround applications such as home theaters.
