Tama's "Third Generation" Swingstar Goes Full Line At Nashville
August 02, 2000

Tama's 3rd Generation Swingstars turned some heads at the 2000 Winter Show. Swingstar's acclaimed shells were still there. But everything else-the stands, the lugs, the pedals-were radically upgraded. Said one amazed pro drum shop owner when he saw all the new improvements, "I don't know how you guys are doing it." The Nashville 2000 show should turn even more heads as Swingstar goes full line for the first time. All the drums and hardware will be available individually. Plus the number of prepackaged sets will expand from two to four with the addition of two "Fusion" configuration kits (five pc kits with three rack toms instead of the usual two racks/one floor tom set-up). Even with the expansion and all the improvements, Tama says there are still no Swingstar price increases. Swingstar shells are crafted of 8 plies of Philippine mahogany. The drums are available in Black, Deep Forest Green, and three metallic finishes: Vintage Blue, Vintage Red, and Vintage Silver. Individually Available Swingstar Drums and Hardware
