Austin Guitars announced the addition of several new models to its line of electric guitars as well as several new colors to existing series. These new guitars will be introduced at the Summer NAMM show in July.

Three new colors will be added to the Era Standard line of electric guitars. The AU731MG Metallic Gold, AU731MR Metallic Red, and AU731PL Platinum will list for $209.00. A new left-hand model, AU740TR Transparent Red, will list for $249.00.

Era Standard models are a top selling series for Austin that have three single coil pickups, a five position pickup selector switch, a solid hardwood body, a maple neck with rosewood finger board, and a fully adjustable bridge/tremolo system with die-cast tuning machines.

Additionally, die-cast tuning machines will be phased in for the second half of 2001 on existing models of the AU731 series. The no-charge upgrade will be phased in the AU731BK Black, the AU731SB Sunburst, the AU731TB Transparent Blue, the AU731TR Transparent Red, and the AU731N Natural. The use of Elm hardwood on all see-through finishes will also phased in throughout the second half of the year.
