BitHeadz, Inc. has released an upgrade to their Unity DS-1 software. The new version will give users more flexibility, and provide greater functionality.
Unity version 2.1.2 will now support Steinbergs VST protocol. This new feature will allow direct access to Unity DS-1's banks and patches directly from within any sequencer that supports Steinberg's Virtual Studio Technology (VST). Unity's VST support also allows multi channel audio outputs to remain entirely in the digital domain within the host sequencer.
Version 2.1.2 will also support Digidesign's Real Time Audio Q Suite (RTAS) technology. This improved integration for Pro-Tools and Pro-Tools LE users with the popular 001 will give complete access to Unity's Library, Bank, and Program menus allowing instant access to gigabytes of samples. RTAS supports up to 64 stereo Unity audio outputs.
In addition, version 2.1.2 will support Applescript for multimedia developers. Now Macromedia's Director and other multimedia applications that support Applescript will be able to access Unity's powerful MIDI and sampling/synthesis features.
"Greater strength and flexibility are what has made Unity DS-1 one of the most popular software samplers for both the Macintosh and PC." States André Rocke, Director of Marketing at BitHeadz, Inc. "We are continuing our commitment to make Unity the choice of sampler for all computer and digital sequencer platforms."
The i -mporting and editing of samples in Unity DS-1 v.2.1.2 will also be simplified. Users can directly play and link AIFF, Wave, and Sound Designer II samples. In addition, Version 2.1.2 will allow you to take all of your installed libraries and convert them into text files with library and bank number information.
