PRESS RELEASE

XP Series Loudspeakers from Fender Audio

July 23, 2001

At this summer’s NAMM convention in Nashville, the Fender Audio division of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) introduced its newest line of products, the Fender Artist XP Loudspeakers. With newly designed electronics and the unmistakable Fender Silverface grill cloth, each of the three new loudspeakers in the line are sure to stand out as the best sounding, best looking loudspeakers on the market.

Drawing on the classic "vibe" of the Fender Silverface amplifier, the Fender Artist XP series brings a new look to a loudspeaker market awash in cabinets covered with black carpet. Like many of Fender’s amp designs, each of the three new loudspeakers are covered with black vinyl and chrome hardware, and they all feature the signature Fender Silverface grill cloth.

Explains Jeff Cary, marketing manager of Fender Audio, "There are dozens of loudspeakers that offer similar specifications and performance. However, none of those speakers have any identity of their own. We decided to give our loudspeakers a look that not only make our cabinets stand out, but one that says ‘Fender’."

The Fender Artist XP Loudspeaker line offers three different speaker configurations: the Artist Series 110XP with a 1 x 10"; the Artist Series 112XP with a 1 x 12"; and the Artist Series 115XP with a 1 x 15". The loudspeakers offer 200 Watt to 300 Watt program (400 Watt to 600 Watt peak) power handling at 8 Ohms. With each of the three models, a newly designed crossover network provides exceptionally smooth high-end performance through two 1 1/2" ceramic compression drivers, which are coupled with a custom, dual chambered constant directivity horn.

The Fender Artist XP Series loudspeakers are built for real world situations and life-long performance. Each model features: parallel 1/4" input jacks; 5/8" wood construction; Fender "Silverface" grill cloth; metal corners and glide feet; a recessed input plate; pole mount socket; and rugged black vinyl covering.

US MSRP for the line are as follows: Artist Series 110XP, $249.99; Artist Series 112XP, $299.99; and Artist Series 115XP, $349.99.
