July 20, 2001Highly portable, robust and easy to use, the new Fostex X-12 Multitracker meets the needs of musicians requiring a simple sketch pada great way to get ideas down on tape when theyre still fresh. The X-12 is also a great way for band members to share musical ideas and vocal phrasings. Since the tape is the standard cassette format, tracks 1 and 2 can be heard on any home hi-fi system or car stereo.
Main features include simple one track recording and easy operation, ultra clear 5-segment LED input level meter, individual Playback level and Pan controls, plus Stereo Line Out and Headphone Out with Level control for stereo mastering or monitoring.
Fostex America announced that their first quarter sales included a healthy showing for their Model X-12, a basic personal multitrack which carries a M.A.P. price of just $99.00, thereby breaking the $100.00 price barrier, according to Phil Celia, Director of Sales & Marketing. "In this age of digital wonder, we tend to forget that the entry level customer has always shown a strong preference for the traditional analog mulitratcker," Celia said, "probably because hes comfortable with the format, the great price, and especially the mediathe compact cassette is reliable, very affordable, and available almost anywhere."
"This staple of the personal recording market is an important product for retailers as well," Celia remarked, "because it gives the dealer a chance to start a relationship with a customer who will also want a microphone, a headset, cables and other accessories."
