July 21, 2001Hosa is breaking the Litepipe distance barrier with a plastic-to-fiber uplink/downlink system. The two-piece design converts the the signal from Toslink connector format to the SC connector format for transmission over glass optical fiber. The glass fiber run can be hundreds of feet long, and at the destination, the second unit converts the signal back to Toslink format.
The OGC-361 two-piece set has a suggested retail price of $499.00. Hosa also sells glass fiber cables ranging from 10 meters to 100 meters in length. For more information, visit their web site at www.hosatech.com. |
