Ibanez players and retailers who have been clamoring for a new Ibanez RG guitar with a fixed bridge got their wish with the debut of the RG421 at Nashville NAMM.
"When people think of heavy rock guitars, the first guitar that comes to mind is the RG" explained an Ibanez spokesperson. "And when people think of the RG they think locking tremolo because so many heavy rock players—even those who don’t use the tremolo arm— like the stability of the RG’s Edge and Lo-TRS bridges. But there are still plenty of players who want the simplicity and sustain of a hard-tailed axe, especially those playing rhythm or using alternate and drop tunings. Plus many existing RG players have told us they want to be able to switch back and forth between locking and fixed bridge axes without making a major style adjustment. For all those players, we’ve got the new RG421."
The fixed bridge RG421 features a basswood body, Ibanez V7 and V8 pickups, and the two-octave Wizard II neck with jumbo frets.
