July 26, 2001Peavey Electronics introduces two new Impulse powered speaker systems, the Impulse 1012P and the 1015P. Driving 450 Watts continuous peak power
through Peavey's new BWX Black Widow woofer and 100 Watts continuous peak tweeter power
through an RX22 high frequency compression driver, a smoother sound is delivered even with an
increase in power handling.
Designed with Peavey's patented DDT (Distortion Detection Technique), a compression circuit enables
the user to maximize the performance of the amplifier/speaker combination by preventing the power
amp from running out of headroom. This allows a clean sound to be achieved even in overload
conditions on both low and high power amps.
Both Impulse enclosures have a master/slave option. Make life easier by defeating the preamp in all
the slaves. Engage the master/slave function and allow the slaves to be controlled by one master.
These powered Impulses demand great sound and were designed to deliver only the best, no matter
who is working the controls. Unlike other systems, the EQ remains the same and is set to sound great
at high and low levels. When using these powered enclosures, there is no need to worry about sliding
filters or trying to make up for an inadequate power amp design. Who has time for that?
The Impulse 1012P uses a 12-inch BWX Black Widow high-power handling woofer in a direct radiating
configuration with the patented Hypervent porting system. The Impulse 1015P features a similar
high-power woofer, but in a 15-inch version. Both provide subsonic protection to maximize audible
power to the woofer and minimize cone excursion.
They share many of the same features of other Impulse family members including: durable,
injection-molded cabinet with weather-resistant cones, super mounting flexibility, with three molded-in
handles. For more information, visit their web site at www.peavey.com. |
